Welcome to the website of Frettenham Parish Council
The Parish Council has 7 councillors elected by the residents of the village to represent your community on various matters. A list of all your councillors and contact details are shown below, you may contact them directly or through the Parish Clerk. The Council meets on the second Friday of each month (except December) at 7.30pm at the Village Hall. The public, of all ages, are welcome to attend and we encourage people to speak during the public participation slot. This is an item on every Agenda near the beginning of each meeting. We discuss varying issues which affect the community such as local roads (and send reports to Highways), local Policing and supporting local groups and organisations. The Council are consulted on Planning Applications and Developments in the village but can only make comments, not decisions, on these matters. Planning Applications can be viewed at Parish Council meetings and also on the Broadland District Council website. Agendas and minutes are posted on the village website and on the notice board located on Post Office Road. If you wish for an item to be put on the Agenda this information must be with the Clerk no less than one week before the meeting. Your Parish Council values your views, comments and questions so please join us at the Council meetings where we will try and resolve any issues.

The Long Awaited Frettenham Play/Exercise Area
In the only rain free moments of Friday 6th December, some of the villagers and children from Frettenham School gathered round the newly installed play area on the playing field at Frettenham Village Hall.The Chairman of Broadland District Council Mrs Karen Vincent who was accompanied by her husband Shaun had been invited to cut the tinsel and open the gates. David Yaxley the Parish Council Chairman opened the ceremony with lots of children listening and eagerly waiting for the gates to open. The efforts of all those involved were mentioned and a big thank you went to Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund for a grant of almost £80,000.00 to provide this long awaited play/exercise area.
The Reverend Christopher Engelsen then did a small blessing for the play area.
The buzz of excitement was growing from the crowd of children as Karen Vincent walked over to cut the tinsel and officially open the gate. As she opened the gate and stood aside the children rushed through and headed towards the climbing frame where they punched the air with triumph. This was the moment of unfettered joy which made all the efforts of so many in Frettenham know that it had all been worth while. The adults also went over to the exercise equipment and were having almost as much fun as the children.
It was an amazing celebration of a community.
